Ology Intelligence · version 0.15.3

One master. Clearer evidence.

Intelligence brings site records, GIS, scans, and approved field returns into one managed master. It keeps the source of each item visible, identifies records that need review, and prepares dependable GIS and reference outputs for the next project.

A reusable records system

Sources → reviewed master
01Records, GIS, scans, and field returns
02Identity, location, and document checks
03Provenance and quality review
04Recon, iPhone, and ArcGIS outputs

The public site contains no master records or archaeological locations.

One-folder master

Keep the record, its GIS, and its history together.

A master folder holds records, GIS, the portable map, reports, and the ArcGIS Pro package. Older masters can be organized into this layout after a verified backup.

ADD

Import many sources

Add material from older archives, current projects, scans, GIS files, and complete iPhone field returns. Reusable import work and history support later updates.

SRC

Trace every item

See when an import ran, where a file originally came from, and how each resource was linked to its records and geometry.

MAP

Browse and search

Find resources by identifier, facts, source import, or map location. Records without reliable positions remain visible without being placed as certain points.

Reading and review

Make old records useful without hiding uncertainty.

On the Mac, Intelligence can read scanned, typewritten, and handwritten forms with local text recognition. An optional local handwriting model can assist on difficult pages. Review tools compare readings and keep the source evidence available.

Quality grades and an accuracy check highlight conflicting coordinates, weak location evidence, missing files, identity issues, and records that need attention. Suggested corrections require review before they are applied.

Checks that matter

  • Record location compared with county and Township/Range/Section
  • Record coordinates compared with linked GIS
  • Uncertain, approximate, and unlocated resources identified
  • Source files, page readings, and review decisions retained
  • Manual links for records and geometry when needed

New in 0.15.3

Attach each resource's own record to its GIS.

Intelligence distinguishes a site's own form from an overview, index listing, report, or a different site's record that merely mentions it. When several records share a packet, it can attach the relevant pages as a separate PDF. The master flags resources that still lack their own record.

That distinction follows the information into the GIS crosswalk, portable master, Recon search, ArcGIS Pro attachments, and iPhone reference library. The original associations remain available for review.

Evidence first

Better attachments, safer interpretation.

A map feature and a linked PDF are only useful if they belong to the same resource. Intelligence records why a document is associated and which file should travel with the mapped resource.

Outputs

Use the reviewed master where the work happens.

REC

Recon search

Connect the master to a Recon project for local, project-area searches and access to its reviewed records and geometry.

PHN

Offline phone library

Export a separate snapshot with searchable records, mapped geometry, and selected linked PDFs for authorized field reference. Re-export when the master changes.

GDB

ArcGIS Pro package

Build or update the master geodatabase and attachments on Windows with ArcGIS Pro, alongside the portable GIS used by the suite.

Exports are snapshots or packages, not live synchronization. Confirm location quality and access rights before sharing a master library.

A complete cycle

Today's reviewed survey strengthens the next bid.

After the office approves DPRs and survey GIS, Intelligence imports them into the master. Recon can then use the improved records for the next project's scope and planning.
